Dharmacon now offers an excellent companion for RNAi studies: QuantiGene^® Reagent System, the quantitative RNA detection method from Panomics. This branched DNA (bDNA) - based technology is a fast, reliable, and simple means to quantitate mRNA directly from cell lysates, tissue homogenates, and other sources without the need for RNA purification or reverse transcription. The assay is compatible with standard lab equipment, has an ELISA-like workflow, and saves time and effort in obtaining RNA levels. Currently available for human genes only.

The QuantiGene^® Reagent System consists of two parts, both of which are required to perform the assay:

1. The QuantiGene^® Explore Kit contains sufficient reagents for 192 assays (2 - 96-well plates) and consists of the capture plates, bDNA, amplifier label, and substrate.
2. The QuantiGene^® Probe Sets contain the sequence-specific components of the assay and are custom-synthesized according to the sequence you specify. These Probe Sets are matched to Dharmacon siGENOME^® human reagents, or can be synthesized to your sequence specifications.

For larger screening studies, the The QuantiGene^® Discover Kit  is used; it is identical to the Explore Kit but contains sufficient reagents for 960 assays (10 - 96-well plates).
