Description of siRNA Processing Terms

  • Ready to use: No further processing is required. Resuspend prior to use.
  • 2'-ACE protected: The RNA is protected at the 2' position with an acid-labile orthoester group (2'-ACE).
  • PAGE: The siRNA duplex has been purified by Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis
  • HPLC: The duplex has undergone ion exchange HPLC purification and lyophilized
  • In vivo: The duplex has been processed by: counter ion (Na+) exchange, desalt, sterile filtration, endotoxin testing and lyophilized
  • Desalted:The siRNA duplex has been desalted by either ethanol precipitation (Ready to use) or reverse phase chromatography (PAGE).
  • Duplexed: The two complementary siRNA strands have been annealed to form a duplex.
  • Single-stranded:The RNA is provided with the sense and antisense strands in separate tubes.
